Autumn greeting
Dear Customers
I hope, like me, you have had time to enjoy a welcome summer break. This has been a great time to relax and replenish those vital skills we need to be able to work professionally.
But now that the autumn is approaching, I am pleased to be back in the office once again.
During the past year, I have been extremely busy with translation work, proofreading, editing and teaching. I have also starred in a commercial which was a great experience. Looking ahead, it is my intention to provide the same quality of services as before.
Please email me your documents for translation as before. I am always happy to provide a quotation and deadline for work. Although my speciality is to translate texts from Finnish/Swedish into English, I also arrange translations into other languages as well.
Private language courses for companies will continue as before. During September many old courses will restart if they have not already done so.
I may offer one or two public courses if there is time.
If you would like more details about my activities, then please feel free to contact me through the following email address: paul(at)talkingtexts(dot)com, or through any of the other contact means shown on my website.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Midsummer greeting
Dear Clients!
Firstly, I wish you all a very pleasant Midsummer and I hope you manage to enjoy your time off work during the summer holiday season. I will be away from the office from 27 June until 7 July. During this time I will not be checking my email as often as usual. However, I am still available for urgent matters.
I would like to use this opportunity to thank all my regular clients for their continued support and trust in my skills over the years. During this spring there have been many interesting translation projects to work with. It is nice to note that my clients are very aware that good English content on websites is an important part of maintaining a professional media presence. My clients know that the translations I produce are accurate, delivered on time and fluent for an English-speaking readership.
This spring I have not been able to run many group language courses due to time restraints and coronavirus concerns. However, I did arrange several private courses through Teams and Zoom which were very enjoyable to teach. I will continue to use this communication platform in the autumn as it is something that my clients request in feedback. Please feel free to contact me for more information on such courses through the following link.
Kind regards
Paul Wilkinson
Christmas Greeting 2021
Dear Clients and Visitors
The year 2021 will soon be laid to rest. And despite all of the uncertainty that the year appeared to hold at the start, I was fortunate enough to be able to continue providing quality translation and editing work at reasonable prices.
This autumn, the teaching side of my business grew considerably. However, unlike previous years almost all the training courses I now run are online. I would like to thank all the students for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning through Zoom and Teams. I believe that online training will continue to be popular next year.
The translation side of my business has been strong throughout the whole of 2021. Once again, I would like to thank all my regular clients for your unwavering support and trust in my abilities to deliver quality work on time.
During this autumn, I have also continued to work on a parttime basis in a local secondary school, helping pupils with special needs. This has been a serendipitous venture that started because of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. I will be continuing to work there parttime next spring as I find it very rewarding and educational.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
News bulletin
Dear Customers,
After a very challenging year because of the Coronavirus I am pleased to report that I am still very much in business. The translation side of my work turned out to be particularly busy because of company restructuring and new investment opportunities in the region. Likewise, the proofreading and editing work has been very good throughout the year. I hope I will be able to continue helping my customers, both old and new, during the rest of this year.
I would particularly like to thank my regular customers for your unwavering support.
This coming autumn I will be involved with more online training and I may make a small face-to-face discussion group in Vaasa if there is a demand for it. More details will be published later.
I will also be continuing my work in a local secondary school at least until Christmas.
I wish you all a good autumn.
Kind regards
Paul Wilkinson
Christmas Greeting 2020
Dear Customers
2020 has been a challenging year for everybody. Since March, the COVID 19 coronavirus has managed to disrupt people’s lives in very many ways as governments tackle the spread of the disease. Almost all companies in the energy sector switched to teleworking, which was especially noticeable within company training. Suddenly courses were moved to distance learning or cancelled altogether. Some students even found themselves furloughed and economic hardship became an uncomfortable reality for far too many.
Still, there have been a few positive events this year. The translation and writing activities in my business have remained as strong as before. And I was lucky to be able to use the free time I gained as a result of cancelled trainings to work in a secondary school for a term.
The opportunity I had to help pupils requiring extra support gave me a great insight into modern teaching methods and new tools for learning. And I was very impressed with the dedication and professionalism shown by all the teachers and assistants that I worked with there. I will certainly be using many of the new skills I learnt when company training courses start again in the future, which I hope will be possible in Autumn 2021.
I would like to wish all my customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
